„Digital systems must not only function – they must be understandable and promote understanding. The decisive factor is whether they provide short-term relief or maintain and strengthen skills in the long term.“
Martin Hänel is a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the Department of Business Informatics and Systems Development (WISE) at the University of Kassel. In the PriDI project, he contributes a user-centred perspective and investigates the cognitive psychological foundations of interaction with dialogue-based, intelligent technologies and algorithms. One focus of his work is on the methodological and empirical design and implementation of surveys to systematically record perceptions, expectations and usage decisions when dealing with digital information and search systems. In doing so, he can draw on his background in consumer behaviour to design measurement instruments that are theory-driven, comprehensible and at the same time practical.
