“Trust and habits characterise the use of digital technologies. User acceptance is not achieved through functionality alone, but through trust, comprehensibility and the willingness to leave familiar paths. If you want to shape social change, you need to understand how people experience and accept change.”
Lara Sokol is a psychologist (M.Sc.) at the Department of Information Systems and Systems Engineering (WISE). In the PriDI project, she contributes her expertise in the areas of user acceptance, trust and usage habits – key factors for the successful introduction of new digital technologies. She is particularly interested in how existing routines influence the switch to alternative systems and how digital services need to be designed so that people trust them and use them in the long term.
